SYRC, Sefer Yetizrah Readers Club

Having only in the past 5 years or so become serious about a structured self-directed course of study in Kabbalah and Early Jewish mysticism; and only put that knowledge in to practice in the past 6 months – I’ve decide to find some study partners to help me on my journey.

Fortunately, due to amazing places such as Treadwells bookshop, there are opportunities to meet like minded individuals in a neutral place. Treadwells is a place of commerce, lectures and making connections for the South-East of UK and beyond. It is a shining beacon in London; a hub where witches, academics, ceremonial magicians, shamans, kabbalists, etc all rub shoulders.

This is the dawn of the Third Age of Mankind, when space exploration and the explosion of magical practice around the world collide. The world that is ever more connected and ever more fragmented.

In order to navigate my way through these rapidly changing and challenging times I’ve turned to the wisdom of the oldest surviving kabbalistic manuscript, Sefer Yetzirah. Having got to level 1 as a Trainee Golem Builder I’ll be linking up one by one with others to form a Sefer Yetzirah Readers Club for people who want to study, practice and master this enigmatic and powerful little book.

At the moment the SYRC consists of just two people, a fellow blogger in London and I. Once we’ve been through chapter 1 of Sefer Yetzirah - with a number of commentaries (such as Ramban, Abulafia, Kaplan and Elazar of Germizah) to guide us in our journey - then we’ll send out an invite for others to join the club.
