Elijah meditation by Fisdel

The Practice of Kabbalah: Meditation in Judaism” by Steven A. Fisdel is one of those rare (in my experience) books that spells out the techniques of Jewish meditation step-by-step. Recently a friend put an update on social media that she's facing a small crisis of lack of direction.

It happens to me more often than I care to admit, often on a Monday morning coming out of the train station on my way in to work. To me it's a sign that I need to do some active world view deconstruction. My favourite meditation that deal with facing one's fears, going through the pain of watching one's illusions crumble and then passing through barriers of self-imposed fears is the Elijah meditation described in Fisdel's book.
